The funding will support technologies that significantly reduce the CO2 and other emissions of vehicles

Investment of up to £100million has been made available to support the development of low-carbon, low-emission automotive propulsion technologies. The funding is the result of a partnership between the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills, Innovate UK and the Advanced Propulsion Centre and emphasises the UK’s supply chain in the sector.

6 November 2014 – The Advanced Propulsion Centre (APC), in partnership with the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS) and Innovate UK is investing up to £100million in collaborative research and development funding to support the development of low carbon, low emission automotive propulsion technologies.

If you are a business working in this area, the APC is looking for projects to demonstrate technologies that:
- deliver significant reductions in vehicle CO2 or other emissions compared to current best-in-class technologies
- align with Automotive Council Technology Group roadmaps with respect to advanced propulsion solutions
- develop the UK’s supply chain in the field of low carbon vehicle propulsion technology

Projects must be collaborative and business-led and include both a vehicle manufacturer (or a tier 1 supplier) and an SME partner.

This competition opens for applicants on 10 November 2014; deadline for registration to the competition is noon on 7 January 2015.
